David Piper grew up on endless High Plains vistas overlaid with right-angle gravel roads. Working for an enormous telephone monopoly, he made repair calls to homes and businesses where he encountered the full expression of human eccentricities. After earning a degree in economics, he acquired a couple of patents and managed technical teams until an infection by the writing bug overpowered him. David lives and writes in Austin, Texas.
